Getting reimbursements has always been a tedious process for employees, especially those who work in remote locations.

Microland, the IT infrastructure services company, has decided to make life easier for its employees. It has evolved from cash-based transactions to contactless payment solutions, as part of a phased roll out for its employees working from various locations in the country.

To begin with, the company has offered a smart card solution for meal vouchers only, with a scope to go completely mobile. The plan is to extend it to other reimbursable benefits with the evolution of the solution.

The solution is very similar to the Sodexo coupons but in a card format.

It works at all visa-enabled outlets, and therefore, is not limited to or within the company premises. The service provider is also constantly enrolling merchants to increase the usage of the solution.

Simplification of benefits administration and keeping the employees in the centre of the equation forms a core part of the Total Rewards Framework & Talent Experience at Microland, which is driven by HR, says Sujitesh Das, Vice President-Strategic HR, Microland.

In the recent months, Microland has also launched several such unique and key initiatives in the employees’ benefits space. A special service milestone leave, entitles employees to an additional leave credit of five days for every fifth year of service anniversary. Zero interest loans are offered, the quantum of which are linked to the employees’ tenure, with recovery in easy instalments.
