Citigroup has launched advanced artificial intelligence or AI tools to boost productivity and streamline operations for its workforce across eight countries, including the UK. These tools are designed to simplify complex tasks and enhance efficiency in the workplace.
Starting this month, around 1,40,000 employees will have access to two new AI-driven tools: Citi Assist and Citi Stylus.
Citi Assist acts as a virtual assistant, helping employees quickly navigate internal policies and procedures in areas such as HR, compliance and finance. It is designed to serve as a ‘super-smart coworker’ providing easy access to essential information.
Citi Stylus, on the other hand, allows users to efficiently summarise, compare, and search through multiple documents. It will also address the increasing demand for better information management in the financial sector.
The rollout of these AI tools, available in the UK, US, Canada, and Ireland, is a key step in Citigroup’s strategy to integrate AI into its daily operations. This move aligns with broader industry trends, as other financial institutions, such as Morgan Stanley and Bank of America, are also adopting AI solutions to enhance their services.
Citigroup’s head of technology and business enablement emphasised the importance of employee feedback in refining these tools. The bank plans to monitor their impact and explore potential applications while encouraging staff to suggest innovative ideas. This initiative is part of Citigroup’s broader commitment to technological advancements, including efforts to improve data quality and regulatory compliance.
The UK workforce is among the first to benefit, and these tools are expected to significantly improve efficiency and collaboration across Citigroup’s global operations.
