Keshava Amai, proprietor of SRK Ladders, decided to treat his workers to an airline trip. This Labour Day, he flew with 51 of his workers, who could not otherwise have afforded a flight ticket, from Puttur to Bengaluru, for a two-day fun trip.

This was Amai’s way of rewarding his hardworking workers and acknowledging their contribution in helping him make the company, which manufactures agricultural equipment, what it is today.

It is pertinent to mention here that Keshava Amai is visually impaired. Yet, he has managed to build a successful company and admits how his workers have helped in the process. It was his idea to present a few options to his workers for celebrating Labour Day, including a bonus, sports day, party, or a tour. The majority of the workers chose the two-day fun trip/tour. Amai then decided to make the journey even more exciting and enjoyable by taking them for the trip by flight because he realised that most of the workers had not even seen an airport in their life.

In Bengaluru, the employees were treated to a musical evening and some activities around a campfire. They were also taken on a sightseeing tour to Mysuru during the two-day trip.

The workers are reportedly grateful for Amai’s gesture for this memorable trip and for giving them a flight experience.
