Meesho, the e-commerce platform, has captured widespread attention and admiration with its latest employee-friendly initiative—a nine-day paid break to “reset and recharge.” In a LinkedIn post, the company announced that its employees will be taking time off from 26 October to 3 November, allowing them to fully disconnect from work.

This break, now in its fourth consecutive year, has been designed to promote mental and physical well-being after a period of intense activity, including the successful execution of their Mega Blockbuster Sale. Employees are encouraged to fully disconnect, with no work-related tasks such as emails, Slack messages, or meetings during the break.

The announcement further explained that this initiative allows employees to recharge both their minds and bodies for a fresh start in the coming year. The post has received nearly 19,000 reactions.

LinkedIn users were quick to express their admiration for Meesho’s initiative. LinkedIn users responded with enthusiasm, commending the company for prioritising employee well-being. One user applauded Meesho for leading by example, emphasising the importance of care and balance in the workplace. Others echoed similar sentiments, noting that this approach is rare in today’s fast-paced work culture. The idea of complete disconnection—no emails, no meetings—was a key point of appreciation, with many expressing how this would allow employees to return refreshed and motivated.

The initiative also attracted comments from professionals across industries who marvelled at the possibility of such a break in today’s work environment.
