Velocity-speed with focus: Theme for this year’s SHRM annual conference

Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), is all set to organise its two-day annual conference on September 24 and 25, 2015. 

The theme for this year’s conference, fourth in the series, is ‘Velocity-speed with focus’. The objective is to discuss the growth of HR as an independent and robust industry, and focus on the recognition it deserves.

The two-day conference is expected to see a gathering of more than 750 delegates from 400 organisations and over 60 speakers.

There will be more than 20 knowledge and industry-specific sessions, along with concurrent sessions on industry trends, and at least 40 companies showcasing their products and services.

“The time has come to showcase and highlight the true potential of HR in the world of business and ensure that the industry gets its rightful place. At the same time, to keep pace with the rapidly evolving and changing business scenario, the HR industry needs to be on its toes in pursuit of the right talent,” says Achal Khanna, CEO, SHRM India.

Eminent keynote speakers who will share their experiences and expertise at length in this conference, are John Mattone, president & CEO – John Mattone Global; Wayne F. Cascio, professor at the University of Colorado; Anil Sachdev, founder and CEO of Grow Talent Company Limited; Vivek Khanna, chief client partner at Neeyamo Inc; Claudia Al-Bala’a, Sr. VP – Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc; Raghu Raman, president- Risk, Security & New Ventures, Reliance Group and many more.

SHRM will also recognise and award those organisations, which have brought in best people practices and empowered HR to become a strategic business partner. Some of the categories include HR analytics, diversity & inclusion, social media, people practices, community impact, developing leaders of tomorrow, talent sourcing and staffing, as well as best employee health and wellness initiatives.
