Instamojo, a full-stack solutions provider for MSMEs, has ramped up hiring and on-boarded over half of its new hires from tier 2 and 3 cities and towns in the last three months. The Company hired across verticals including tech, marketing and product teams. It has also offered permanent work from home flexibility option, allowing staff to choose to work remotely or from office, whichever they like.

With location no longer being a barrier to hiring quality talent, Instamojo was able to take advantage of a wider pool of technical talent. With a 140-strong workforce across India, the Company has recently taken on new hires from Krishnagiri, Kolar, Dehradun, Sitapur and similar tier 1 and 2 cities. By the end of the quarter, Instamojo hopes to take the strength to 160.

Akash Gehani, co-founder & COO, Instamojo shares, “Candidates were hired and on-boarded virtually. While this helped us widen our access to reach the right candidates, new hires had the benefit of working out of their hometowns and contributing to the company.”

The Company realises that “Flexibility at work is an essential feature today, while employees look for options to maintain a work-life balance. At Instamojo, along with the introduction of the permanent work-from-home feature, we plan to continue following our work from anywhere policy, with our office space open and accessible to all employees.”

During the pandemic, the Company introduced several products to address the timely need of small businesses that were struggling to survive, and consequently recorded a 25 per cent growth in merchant base. Instamojo also raised a Pre-Series C funding to expand its business to overseas markets.
