Indian private-sector bank, Axis Bank, held a job fair at Kingsway Camp, Delhi, to help the retired personnel of Delhi Police and their children obtain employment. Aptly called ‘Jobex’, the fair was co-sponsored by Max Life Insurance and inaugurated by Mrs. Suchana Patnaik, president, Police Families Welfare Society (PFWS), Delhi. The event witnessed participation by more than a hundred 100 corporates.

In the first phase of the employment programme, over 8500 candidates submitted their registration forms, which were uploaded to an online portal accessed by the hiring organisations. In the second phase, 6500 candidates were shortlisted for interview. In the third phase, the candidates were interviewed and offered jobs.

This is not the first time the Bank is hosting the Jobex. Earlier, it held Mumbai edition for former Mumbai Police personnel in June, 2018, wherein more than a thousand people and 20 companies participated.

Amulya Patnaik, Commissioner of Police Delhi, remarked, “This is a great initiative by Axis Bank in collaboration with Delhi Police and Police Families Welfare Society (PFWS) to provide such kind of employment platform. I am excited to observe how this has helped the Delhi Police community by creating jobs for wards of serving and retired Delhi Police Personnel and also ex-policemen. The facet of conducting interviews and offering positions within a few hours is an interesting concept. I would like to wish the selected candidates all the best for their future”.

We believe that a forum of this stature will symbiotically benefit interviewees to find ideal jobs and the corporates to find talent with the right skill-sets, says Nuti Chakravarthy, regional branch banking head-North, Axis Bank.

Nuti Chakravarthy, regional branch banking head-North, Axis Bank, said “We are happy to be of service to the uniformed forces and Government institutions and we will continue to offer special and customised banking services catering to their needs. The Bank has been at the forefront to offer products and services that are exclusive to defence and police forces under ‘Power Salute’. The job fair is to further extend our gratitude to the forces by providing them with a platform for employment opportunities. We believe that a forum of this stature will symbiotically benefit interviewees to find ideal jobs and the corporates to find talent with the right skill-sets”.
