Cipla has extended its Group Mediclaim Policy to cover employees of the LGBTQ community and live-in partners. The move is part of the #EqualCipla initiative that aims to build a diverse and equitable workplace for a multi-generational workforce. This initiative has been undertaken keeping in mind the changing needs of an evolving workplace and to promote a diverse work culture in the true sense of the word.

Speaking on this initiative, Raju Mistry, global chief people officer, Cipla, said, “At Cipla, we are reimagining our role to be a future-ready organisation. Inclusion and diversity stem from our inherent purpose of caring for everyone across all communities. It is our constant endeavour to provide equal benefits and opportunities to all our employees and make them feel included and welcome without any bias.”

As a progressive employer, the launch of this policy is a crucial step under the sexual orientation pillar (one amongst the five pillars that form the focus areas for inclusion and diversity), enabling a bias-free, inclusive, and equitable Cipla. This strengthens the Company’s commitment towards inclusion and diversity, by providing equal benefits to all employees and making them feel welcome in a progressive workplace. Besides making the environment welcoming for the LGBT community, Cipla also aims to make live-in partners feel secure and comfortable in the workplace.

This significant step is a testimony to Cipla’s efforts at ensuring equal benefits to all their colleagues, even while focusing on taking forward the Company’s D&I agenda.
