The Uttar Pradesh government is all set to establish the PM Mitra mega textile park in Lucknow, spreading over a vast area of 1,000 acres in the Malihabad tehsil. This ambitious project aims to attract an investment of Rs 10,000 crore and will create employment opportunities for approximately one lakh youth.

The chosen location for the park is Attari village, strategically selected for its excellent connectivity with the rest of the city. Situated on the outskirts of the state capital, the site is conveniently located just 20 kilometres away from NH-20 and SH-20, both of which are four-lane roads connecting Lucknow to Sitapur and Hardoi, respectively.

The development of the PM Mitra mega textile park will follow a public-private partnership (PPP) model, with an allocated budget of Rs 500 crore for the construction of essential infrastructure. Additionally, there is a provision of Rs 300 crore for manufacturing units, which will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

The park’s common infrastructure will include a well-planned road network, uninterrupted 24/7 power supply, reliable water supply, spacious warehouses, a zero liquid discharge effluent treatment plant, and facilities for training and skill development. The administrative building will boast a product display facility, while an exhibition centre with a testing laboratory will further enhance the park’s capabilities.

To accommodate the workforce, the park will provide workers’ hostels, housing zones, and necessary medical facilities. Moreover, commercial and recreational amenities, open spaces, parks, and robust security arrangements will ensure a holistic environment for both work and leisure.

The establishment of the PM Mitra mega textile park is a significant step towards boosting the textile industry in the region. It not only promises substantial investment but also holds the potential to provide numerous employment opportunities for the youth, fostering economic growth and development in Lucknow.
