Airbus, the European aircraft manufacturer, is set to announce employment opportunities for high-end engineering and IT talents from India at the Wings India airshow this week. It will be looking to fill roles in avionics software, aircraft system simulation and airframe areas. A lot of opportunities are also present in cybersecurity, API development, full-stack development, big data, cloud and DevOps and IoT.

Suraj Chettri, regional director – human resources, Airbus India & South Asia, admits that “India’s strength lies in its talent, and its ability to scale volume and presence of perhaps the largest engineering and IT technology partner ecosystems in the world.”

The Company is going to tap India’s talent for its global programmes, Chettri revealed.

Airbus has an employee headcount of 7,000 in India, and is planning to add 2,000 more positions in engineering and IT by the end of 2022.

In January, Airbus had announced its decision to hire 6,000 people worldwide across the entire Group in the first quarter of 2022, and to carry out a mid-year reassessment to adjust needs accordingly. A quarter of the hiring will focus on acquiring people who have the right skills to work on decarbonisation, digital transformation, and cyber technology. A third of the jobs will go to young graduates.

Thierry Baril, Airbus chief human resources and workplace officer, had said that Airbus had remained resilient throughout the Covid crisis and aims to acquire new talent in various domains that will help the Company grow its activities as it comes out of the crisis.
