Employees of Infosys have started receiving their salary increment letters. While the top performers are being granted 10 to 12 per cent increment, the average salary hike is in the range of five to eight per cent.
The increments were announced for band JL6 and below, with effect from 1 April.
The performance of the employees has been classified into four categories— outstanding, commendable, met expectations, and needs improvement.
Employees who qualify for the “met expectations” category have received a salary increase of five to seven per cent, while those with commendable performance are in for a hike of seven to 10 per cent. The top performers who have done exceptionally well have enjoyed hikes in the range of 10-20 per cent. Those who fell in the “needs improvement” category have not received any salary hike at all.
It is pertinent to mention here that employees have not received increments after November 2023 when the last hike had taken place.
The October-December quarter of FY25 was witness to an 11.4 per cent hike in net profit (Rs 6,806 crore). This was more than the Rs 6,106 crore that was posted during the same time the previous year. The revenue for the quarter was also up by 7.6 per cent compared to the previous year, that is, Rs 41,764 crore.
Recently Infosys has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. The Union Labour Ministry has asked the Karnataka Labour Department take relevant steps to sort out the matter of mass layoff of 300 freshers at Infosys with some of them being asked to vacate their accommodations without any warning or notice.
