Dubai aviation city corporation, the licensing and regulatory body of Dubai South free zone, is dedicated to prioritising the well-being and protection of employees working within the region.

To ensure a secure environment, Dubai aviation city corporation has partnered with Dubai insurance (DIN) to introduce an employee protection insurance programme for all Dubai South licensees’ employees. This initiative will commence in August 2023.

The employee protection insurance programme has been designed to provide a safety net for employees in situations where Dubai South licensees may not fulfill their obligations.

The programme includes unpaid salaries, end-of-service gratuities, repatriation costs, and unreimbursed expenses.

This programme will be mandatory for all new employment visas and work permits, requiring employers to adopt the scheme and protect their employees. For existing visas, the program will become essential during the renewal of residence visas.

According to Khalifa Al Zaffin, executive chairman, Dubai aviation city corporation and Dubai South, the implementation of the employee protection insurance programme will instill a sense of confidence among its licensees, demonstrating its unwavering commitment to fostering an exceptional working environment.

It further emphasises the dedication to maintain Dubai’s competitive position on the global stage.
