The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) is reported to have approved the 7th Pay Commission’s recommendations for the teachers and academic staff of the Central Government.
The Central-Government employees are expected to receive revised allowances and arrears for the last 18 months. The Pay Commission recommendations will come into effect from July 1, 2017.
Recently, the Higher Education Regulator and the UGC had directed to increase the honorarium amount for guest lecturers from Rs 1000 per lecture subject to Rs 1500.
Once the allowances are implemented as per the CPC recommendations, the load on the Central Government will be Rs 1241.78 crore.
