GAIL, a prominent natural gas company in India, has launched a new program called ‘GAIL Abha’ to assist the entrepreneurial aspirations of spouses of its employees who reside in remote locations. The initiative was introduced at GAIL Vijaipur, with Monika Gupta and Ayush Gupta, director (HR),GAIL, leading the launch.

The primary objective of the GAIL Abha program is to inspire spouses of GAIL employees in remote locations to innovate and assess their potential through entrepreneurial workshops and short, intensive training modules. The program will select the best ideas through a series of presentations, and the chosen participants will receive 21 weeks of rigorous guidance and mentoring from expert faculty to transform their ideas into viable business opportunities.

During the 21-week period, participants will receive regular mentorship and guidance on various aspects of entrepreneurship, including assistance with seed funding applications, business registration, and facilitation schemes such as the Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS). To ensure the success of the program, GAIL’s GTI Noida has collaborated with IIT Madras to provide education, mentoring, and support to the spouses of GAIL employees at Pata, Dibiyapur, and Vijaipur for a start.

GAIL is committed to cultivating and nurturing innovation, promoting entrepreneurship, and contributing to inclusive growth by providing wings to the spouses of its employees in remote locations to pursue their entrepreneurial aspirations. The GAIL Abha initiative is a clear demonstration of this move.
