Vishal Garg, CEO, Better.com may have returned to work with good intentions, but the employees of the mortgage company are least happy about it. In fact, it is reported that some of the good talent of the firm are quitting one after the other post Garg’s return after a month long break.

In December, 2021, Garg had brutally laid off 900 employees over a Zoom call without any warning. A video of this controversial Zoom call went viral, grabbed headlines and tarnished the image of Garg and Better.com on social media.

Post the negative publicity he received for the inhuman manner in which he laid off his employees, Garg had issued an apology for his unbecoming behaviour. He had then taken time off to introspect and undergo executive coaching, admitting that he needed to work on his leadership style.

However, when employees were informed of his return this month, they did not welcome him. They are, instead, putting in their papers and leaving the company in big numbers, as reported by TechCrunch.

While the board of Better.com has made it clear that it is confident that Garg will bring about positive changes and uphold his commitment to the betterment of the Company, it is quite clear that the employees are not happy to see him back in the CEO’s chair.

If media reports are to believed, Garg is being overcautious and is ensuring that no information or news from the office is leaked out to any external entity or individual.
