Ernst & Young (EY) will be hiring 14,000 people for its eight global delivery services (GDS) centres in India this financial year. The multinational professional services company is gearing up to strengthen its technology and consultancy services delivery network. Considering the increasing demand for digital transformation and innovation-led services from global as well as domestic clients, it will be hiring more people with advanced analytics skills, taking its workforce strength from the current 27,000 to over 40,000.
Other than advanced analytics, the skills it will focus on while hiring are cybersecurity, machine learning (ML), automation and artificial intelligence (AI). More people from the STEM field will be in demand.
The organisation is also in need of quality talent to implement SAP. It has come up with a SAP innovation factory within its GDS centres to narrow the talent gap via hiring and training.
EY is not the only one on a hiring spree. Deloitte and KPMG are also hiring. While the former is expected to add 40,000 more to its workforce, the latter is gearing up to hire 8,000-9,000 people.
EY was in the news not long ago, when its India arm acquired customer relationship management (CRM) solutions provider, C Centric Solutions.
Through this acquisition, the Company will be able to further its commitment to providing businesses with strategies driven by customer insights, to help take advantage of AI, analytics and the cloud.
