Nissan to recruit over 500 techies for R&D centre in Kerala

The new hires from India and abroad will be well versed in software development, AI and IoT among other domains.

Japanese multinational automobile manufacturer, Nissan, is gearing up to launch its first global digital hub for driverless cars at Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram. The Company intends to hire about 550 techies for its proposed R&D centre within the next three months.

The R&D hub will focus on innovations in automated and electronic vehicles, to be shared by the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance.

The hiring drive is aimed at creating a team of top talent for Nissan comprising experts in software development, UI/UX, big data, analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and Internet of Things. Over 300 professionals have already been recruited, who have been working from the Infosys campus at Thiruvananthapuram since July, 2018.

The new R&D hub will cover an area of 25,000-sq ft, and Infosys, which is a vendor of Nissan has allowed its office space to be used by the new recruits till the hub is ready.
