IHG Partners to empower youth talent through hospitality careers

The initiative will offer training, certification and placement opportunities across hotels and service establishments in India

IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) has launched a new initiative to skill and empower young people from underserved communities, helping them build sustainable careers in the service and hospitality industry. The move is part of IHG’s broader commitment to strengthening local talent and addressing the sector’s growing skill gap.

Under the initiative, IHG will support education and training programmes that equip youth with the capabilities required for modern hospitality roles. The company aims to enable individuals from diverse backgrounds to achieve financial independence and build careers of dignity, rather than taking up roles defined by circumstance.

This move aligns with IHG’s global Journey to Tomorrow responsible business plan, which focuses on driving positive change through community empowerment and skills development. With a large share of the skilled workforce migrating to other sectors, IHG aims to strengthen the talent pipeline for hospitality while generating meaningful social and economic impact.

“As we continue to grow in India, we remain focused on creating shared value — for our people, our partners, and the communities we serve,” said Sudeep Jain, managing director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts. “This partnership reflects our commitment to nurturing local talent, bridging the skill gap, and helping young individuals build fulfilling careers in hospitality, guided by our purpose of True Hospitality for Good,” he added.

To ensure quality training and industry alignment, the programme will be implemented in collaboration with The Job Plus and the Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council (THSC). Participants will undergo structured skilling, assessment, and certification, preparing them for employment opportunities across hotels and related service sectors.

Through this collaboration, IHG reaffirms its commitment to making hospitality a vehicle for transformation — creating not just jobs, but careers with purpose and pride for the next generation.
