Given the current situation of India and Pakistan, the West Bengal government has cancelled the leaves of all state government employees until further notice. A similar directive has been issued by the Delhi government to its employees too.

Even those employees of West Bengal government who were earlier sanctioned leave have been ordered to return to duty barring those who are on medical leave. Officials have been stopped from leaving their headquarters without seeking permission, in writing, from their heads of department. Senior officials are expected to be available in the control room and have been asked to keep their mobile phones on at all hours.
