Indian fashion brands platform, Myntra, is preparing to deal with the surge in demand this festive season. It is hiring about 7,500 people for its kirana network and about a 1,000 for its delivery centres across the country. It will also hire 2,700 people to boost the capability of its contact centres so that customer service and queries can be smoothly handled. Of the total 11,000 to be hired, the majority will be for Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Pune and Lucknow.

This is probably the largest recruitment drive that Myntra has undertaken in preparation for the festive season rush and the anticipated demand during the ‘Big Fashion Sale’.

Amar Nagaram, CEO, Myntra, informs, “The majority of the recruitments are being undertaken to enhance capabilities for last-mile delivery, and therefore, Kirana store partners make up for the bulk of hiring, taking the total number of store partners to 25,000, which is about 30 per cent higher than last year, to cater to about 70 per cent of the deliveries.”

During the recent End of Reason Sale or EORS in July, the Kirana partners and delivery personnel were able to increase their incomes by about 200 per cent on average. Myntra will also incentivise its frontline force with various perks, including attendance bonus, in addition to their regular salaries.

Myntra has built a robust supply chain, comprising mostly of the Myntra Extended Network for Service Augmentation (MENSA) partners, who are typically kirana store owners in the neighbourhood, and its own distribution centres. By doing so, it is readying to efficiently deliver products and satisfaction to millions of shoppers, even while creating seasonal jobs for thousands across the country.

Myntra, an integral part of the Flipkart Group, has partnered with over 5000+ leading fashion and lifestyle brands in the country.
