    Oil India appoints Ankur Baruah as director (HR)

    Baruah’s appointment was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet

    Ankur Baruah, who was earlier executive director (HR), Oil India (OIL), has now been elevated to director (human resources).

    The appointment was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC). His tenure as director (HR) begins with the date on which he assumes charge and will last till he retires on 29 February 2028, unless other orders are issued.

    Baruah is an engineer who went on to become an HR leader. He has completed an MBA in human resources and a PhD in business administration. He also has IPMA Project Management and Psychometric Testing accreditation.

    Backed by about 30 years of experience, during which he honed his HR and corporate leadership skills, Baruah’s expertise lies in manpower planning, talent acquisition, performance management, stakeholder engagement and change management. Oil India has benefitted immensely from his strategic, inclusive, progressive and innovative approaches in the field of HR. Thanks to him OIL has managed to successfully align its human resource policies with its business goals, which has been responsible for the organisation’s growth and resilience.

    During his association with OIL Ankur Baruah has received various awards and recognitions, such as Most Iconic HR Leader, Topmost HR Leader in Asia, and also the HR Excellence Award . Baruah believes in human-centric leadership and is passionate about creating better workplaces and organisations.
