    OpenAI is now steering its efforts toward developing ‘superintelligence’. This move reflects the company’s ambition to push beyond artificial general intelligence (AGI) into creating tools that surpass human capabilities and accelerate innovation.

    OpenAI envisions superintelligent tools that could transform industries and expedite scientific breakthroughs. These tools are expected to outperform humans in solving complex problems, potentially fostering unprecedented levels of abundance and prosperity. The company sees this leap as the next logical step in AI evolution.

Recent organisational changes, including the disbanding of AI safety teams and the departure of safety researchers, have sparked debates about the company’s readiness to address these challenges.
