The existing 2,600-strong workforce at PhonePe will soon grow to double its size. The Bengaluru-based digital payments platform is looking to hire about 2800 people over a period of a year.

The Walmart-owned firm will be hiring talent for its offices in Delhi, Pune, Mumbai, Bangalore and other locations in India. It is looking for talent for its sales, analytics, engineering, product and business development teams.

Recently, the Company launched the Mothers@PhonePe initiative, which offers flexibility to mothers enabling them to return to the active workforce. A similar programme, Parents@PhonePe, has been rolled out for secondary caregivers too, so that both parents can share the responsibility of a new arrival.

It launched its diversity and inclusion (D&I) programme last year, with the aim to increase the number of women in leadership positions and to hire more members from the LGBTQI community, and also include persons with disabilities (PwDs) in the workforce.

While talking to HRKatha last year, about the Company’s D&I initiatives, Manmeet Sandhu, CHRO, PhonePe had said that existing PhonePe employees who had identified as part of the LGBTQ community had reached out to express support, but the organisation had no plan to require people to share their orientation. At the time, they had yet to conduct a structured survey to identify these groups at the workplace.

PhonePe also offers employee stock ownership plans(ESOPs) to its employees so that they can also create wealth.

It has invested heavily on the PhonePe University, which is programme that is aimed at accelerating learning for engineers and techies. This also ensures a ready pool of engineering talent which has enough opportunities to keep upgrading their skills
