Rekha Menon appointed as NASSCOM chairperson for 2021-2022

Menon is the1st woman in the history of NASSCOM to be elected to this position

Rekha M Menon, chairperson and senior managing director, Accenture India has been elected as the first woman chairperson of the IT industry body, NASSCOM. She will hold the position for the year 2021-2022.

Sharing the information, Menon tweets, “Honoured to be elected as the new chairperson of @nasscom. As we cautiously navigate the pandemic, I look forward to working with the NASSCOM Executive Council and its members to drive our industry’s long-term growth.”
In this role, she has succeeded UB Pravin Rao, CEO, Infosys, who essayed the role through the year 2020-2021. In a statement, Menon said, “As we cautiously navigate the pandemic, I look forward to working with the NASSCOM Executive Council and its members to drive our industry’s long term growth by augmenting India’s position as the digital talent nation for the world, driving people first innovation, and working with the government to create a conducive policy environment needed for sustainable growth.”

She has been associated with Accenture India, for seventeen years before which she co-founded two technology companies.Besides being the chairperson of NASSCOM, Menon is also member of the National Council of CII, co-chair of CII’s Indian Women’s Network and the India Advisory Council of USIBC.

Debjani Ghosh, president, NASSCOM,has also tweeted her delight at the “opportunity to work with Menon”. She added that Menon’s past contribution to NASSCOM has remained invaluable and that this association would definitely take NASSCOM along with the IT industry to a new height in India. She says, “Digital skilling is going to be the cornerstone for a collaborative development.”
