Come September, Wipro hopes to have all its employees working from office. Of course, the implementation of ‘return to office’ will differ from country to country. It will all depend on the pandemic situation and whether or not there is a third wave. The Company remains hopeful of sticking to its return-to-office plans as of now, given that a sizeable section of the population has been vaccinated. A good 55 per cent of its employees in India have received the vaccine.

The Company has managed to get 58 per cent of its employees inoculated with the first dose, while a significant 10 per cent of its workforce has received both doses of the vaccine. Of its two lakh employees, at least 35,000 have been vaccinated.

Wipro has witnessed strong growth and hopes to continue the trend. Therefore, it does not come as a surprise that the Company plans to offer increments to its junior employees, who make up 80 per cent of its workforce.

These merit salary increments (MSI) for all eligible employees up to Band B3, that is, assistant manager level and below, will be effective from September 1, 2021. Earlier, in January, the Company had announced salary hikes for eligible employees in these bands. The hike in September will be the second one for them in 2021.
