Ankush Malik, who had been serving Juniper Green Energy as chief operating officer (COO), has been elevated to chief executive officer (CEO) of the company.
An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, spent the initial years of his career with Lanco as senior design engineer, hydro division. This was followed by a stint with ICICI Bank as manager, project finance group.
He entered the renewable energy sector with an appointment as manager, finance and investment analysis, at Orange Renewable Power, in 2012. He then spent almost a year looking after project operations, biomass, for Orange Powergen.
In December of 2014, Ankush Malik was appointed vice president, development and execution, Orange Renewable, which was acquired by Greenko. By 2018, he had been promoted to the position of chief operating officer (COO).
November of 2018 was witness to Malik taking up the role of chief business officer, Juniper Green Energy. Over five and a half years later, he was promoted to chief operating officer (COO), in May 2024.
Financial modelling, business strategy, financial management, carbon accounting, project planning, business development, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), project delivery and tender management are amongst his areas of expertise.
With this elevation at Juniper Green Energy—renewable energy power producer and operator of solar, wind and hybrid power projects—Malik will get an opportunity to further contribute to the company’s goal of ensuring a sustainable future by delivering clean-energy solutions. The company is reportedly gearing for its initial public offering (IPO) this year.
