    Hari Menon takes on GCHRO role at Eternis Fine Chemicals

    Menon moves from Mitsui OSK Lines where he served as CHRO

    Hari Menon has taken on the role of global chief human resources officer (GCHRO) at Eternis Fine Chemicals, the Indian producer of aroma chemicals.

    An alumnus of Bharathiar University and NIILM School of Business, Hari Menon holds a certificate in coaching skills from the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

    In the initial years of his career, Menon received industrial exposure as a management trainee in the hospitality sector, when he worked for Sheraton Hotels & Resorts from 1997 to 1998.

    He joined RealTime System as human resource manager in 2001. His next stop was the Tata Group where he worked as human resource manager for three years before moving to Alstom Power, as senior manager/head, compensation and benefits and HR operations India. From 2007 to 2011, he played human resources director, India, leading the HR function for the energy business of Alstom in the Indian Subcontinent, and managing all manufacturing (industrial and project sites) pan India. He was elevated to Asia region human resource director, Alstom Power, in February of 2011, working out of Malaysia.

    He then moved from Malaysia to Singapore to take on the role of vice president-human resources, Asia Pacific region, Alstom, in September 2014. Three years into this role he was promoted to vice president-HR and group talent-management leader, working out of Paris, France. During this stint he successfully built a robust and dependable succession plan pipeline.

    October of 2021 saw Hari Menon moving to CMA CGM as vice president of human resources international network. For the next more than two years, he was based in France, leading the global HR network of over 500 HR professionals, working as the HR business partner (CHRO) for the worldwide transportation network. From 2022 to 2024, he was also an official member of the Forbes Human Resources Council. It was just a year ago that he joined Mitsui OSK Lines as CHRO.

    Now, as GCHRO, Eternis Fine Chemicals, he will be the global head of HR contributing towards changing the future of work. HRKatha wishes Hari Menon all the best in his endeavours!
