Kristi Hummel has been appointed chief people officer at Skillsoft. She moves from Dell, where she was senior vice president – human resources, for over five years.

Armed with an MBA from Babson College, Hummel started her career in HR with Pencom Systems in 1994. After a successful six-year long stint, she moved on to GiantLoop Network as head of HR for four years.

In 2004, she joined EMC Corporation as senior director – HR operations. By the time she left EMC after eight years, she was VP- human resources operations.

In December 2012, Hummel joined VCE Corporation as chief human resource officer. There, she reported directly to the CEO and successfully led all all aspects of the company’s people strategy efforts including, recruiting, compensation, benefits, performance management, professional and leadership development. She was also responsible for developing talent acquisition, retention and development programmes for more than 2000 employees in 30 countries.

Less than three years later, she found herself at Dell, where she joined as senior VP – HR in 2016. She is also a board member at the Museum of Science in Boston.

Known for her positive attitude, attention to detail and organisation skills, Hummel has over two decades of experience in the HR domain.
