Livguard, the Indian energy storage and solar solutions brand under the SAR Group, has appointed Sameer Nagpal as its new managing director (MD) & chief executive officer (CEO).
An alumnus of Delhi College of Engineering and IIM-Calcutta, Nagpal spent the initial 15 years of his career with Carrier Corporation. He held various positions from 1991 to 2007. By the time he moved on from Carrier, in June of 2007, he had reached the position of director-building systems and services, India.
Sameer Nagpal joined ZICOM Electronic Security Systems, as chief executive officer, in 2007. For well over two and a half years, he led the transformation of this publicly-listed company from a promoter-driven entity to a professionally-managed,process-oriented organisation.
In March of 2010, Nagpal took up the role of VP-strategy and new business, Trane Technologies, which was formerly Ingersoll Rand.
Nagpal’s next stop was Shalimar Paints, as managing director & CEO. He independently spearheaded the company’s turnaround, redefining strategic direction and executing a comprehensive restructuring, from 2013 to 2015.
In January 2017, Nagpal became director & advocacy chair, Indian Refractory Makers Association. Six years into this role, he was elevated to chairman-IREFCON 2022.
August of 2015 was witness to Nagpal being appointed CEO and managing director, Dalmia Bharat Refractories. He led the transformation of the business by integrating multiple entities into a single legal entity and brand, enhancing customer value through performance-driven products and services, and institutionalising manufacturing excellence to compete effectively with multinational players.
Backed by over three decades of experience across industries, Nagpal is now set to drive Livguard’s next phase of growth and innovation. He will be tasked with helping accelerate the company’s position in the energy storage and solar solutions industry.
