Sandhya Devanathan has been named India head at Meta, the parent company of social networking website Facebook. She will take on the new role on 1 January, 2023 and her focus will be on bringing the organisation’s business and revenue priorities together.
Having been part of the Company since 2016, in her current role Devanathan will lead Meta’s gaming business for APAC.
In the past, as the country director of Facebook, Singapore and Vietnam, she has played a crucial role in building the Singapore and Vietnam businesses and teams. Her role in establishing the e-commerce initiatives in the Southeast has also been remarkable.
She will report to Dan Neary, vice president, Meta APAC and will be a part of the APAC leadership team. She will move back to India to lead the India organisation and strategy.

Devanathan has over 22 years of experience and an international career in banking, payments and technology. Prior to Facebook, she worked for brands such as Standard Chartered and Citibank.
She is passionate about developing women leaders in business and is the executive sponsor for Women@APAC at Meta as well as the global lead for Play Forward, a global Meta initiative to improve diversity representation in the gaming industry.
Devanathan is a BTech in chemical engineering from Andhra University and an MBA from FMS Delhi.
