Naveen Kumar Nerlaje joins Licious as head-HR

Before his last stint at Starbucks as director - partner resources, Nerlaje had worked with Hindustan Unilever for a decade.

Naveen Kumar Nerlaje has joined Licious, the Indian meat products and seafood brand, as head of human resources, after a four-year stint with Starbucks India as director of partner resources.

For Nerlaje, the aim of this new journey is to strengthen Licious’ endeavour to build a world-class work environment, diverse yet inclusive.

Nerlaje comes with 20 years of experience in various facets of human resources, including shaping of organisational culture, nurturing progressive employee relations and talent & organisational development.

In 2001, Nerlaje had joined Toyota Kirloskar Motor as officer – human resource planning, for three years. In 2004, he moved to Nestle India, as executive-HR, for a short period of time.

Prior to joining Starbucks, in April 2016, Nerlaje was associated with Hindustan Unilever for  almost a decade, from where he exited as the HR business partner for the Foods and Refreshment Business.

Neerlaje has entered Licious at a very crucial time when the workforce is still settling into the new normal. Therefore, it will be a challenge to keep the staff motivated through the changes that are happening at the workplace and in the very manner of working.

Given, the present situation, it is not surprising that his focus will be on transforming the brand into a legend, with the help of the best minds in the business.

Neerlaje’s contribution would be sought in these challenging times when the co-founders of Licious are trying to focus on employee health and well-being even while trying to ensure business growth.

The Company is working on roping in the best of talent and elevating management roles to facilitate growth.
