    Nisha Verma joins Apparel Group as chief human capital officer

    Nisha Verma has moved to the UAE to take on her new role as the chief human capital officer, Apparel Group. She will be leading the human resource practices and also be responsible for more than 10,000 employees. Earlier, she was serving as the chief human resource officer (CHRO), Welspun India, where she was the global head-HR. There, she handled over 20,000 employees spread across the US, Europe and India providing strategic direction to HR functions.

    After completing her master’s in HR from SIBM, she set foot in the corporate world with a stint at Larsen & Toubro (L&T). There, she was responsible for the leadership programmes and grooming the top, senior and middle-level management in the company. She worked and honed her skills in HR with L&T for seven years.

    From L&T, Verma moved to Capgemini in London. There she headed the employee development department in corporate HR. She designed and implemented the performance appraisal, employee-engagement initiatives, rewards & recognition programmes, career tracks and fast-track programmes. In seven years, she reached the level of head, HR leading the HR function for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

    After a long stint at London, Verma came back to India to join Vodafone as the human resource business partner (HRBP) and head, diversity and inclusion. There, she helped the organisation in partnering business to shape strategy and provide insights into the people impacts, ensuring improvement in efficiencies and effectiveness. She also led designing and drove the diversity & inclusion interventions as part of the organisational HR strategies.

    Verma comes with a total experience of about 23 years in HR.
