    Praveen Kuruvalli rejoins AM/NS India as head-HR of CoE

    He first joined ArcelorMittal in the year 2008 as its HR business partner-mining and growth segments

    Praveen Kuruvalli has rejoined ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) as the head HR – centre of excellence (CoE), organisation capability & transformation. Prior to this, Kuruvalli was serving as the CHRO, Ola Electric.

    He joined Ola in April of 2024. Before that, he was associated with AM/NS India as its head-people strategy & HR centre of excellence from December 2019 to April 2024. In this role, he was responsible for defining the organisation’s values and culture, shaping the employee value proposition, and driving the activation of the employer brand. He also played a key role in organisation-wide job evaluations, compensation benchmarking, and defining the company’s compensation philosophy to enhance competitiveness.

    He first joined ArcelorMittal in the year 2008 as its HR business partner-mining and growth segments. After that he held many key positions in the company and in 2018, was appointed as the manager-leadership development.

    In this role, Kuruvalli was responsible for defining and implementing the performance and talent- management strategy across the entire group. He led a major global project to define and deploy the company’s EVP, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s overall goals.

    With over 16 years of experience at AM/NS India and its parent company, ArcelorMittal, Kuruvalli brings extensive expertise in the manufacturing sector. His focus has been on people strategy, talent development, digitisation and rewards.

    Ashutosh Telang, director & vice president-HR & administration, AM/NS India, expressed his satisfaction with Kuruvalli’s return, emphasising the company’s commitment to building a future-ready HR team. “It is heartening to see Praveen come back to AM/NS as we continue to build a future-ready HR team,” he said.

    Kuruvalli himself shared his excitement about rejoining the company at a time when AM/NS India is experiencing significant growth. “Having seen the journey of AM/NS both from inside and outside-in, I firmly believe that the company’s ambitious growth strategy and approach is unmatched,” he said.
