R Sundararajan is new CPO at HCLTech; VV Apparao named chief delivery officer

HCL Technologies has elevated Ramachandran Sundararajan to chief people officer (CPO). Since 2018, he has been executive vice president – HR, HCL America.

VV Apparao, who has been the chief human resources officer (CHRO) for about five years now, will take on the role of chief delivery officer for nearshore, that is, the Company’s division responsible for outsourcing of  processes or services to countries in the same continent and following similar time zone.

These promotions / movements are part of HCL Technologies’ repositioning and rebranding exercise.

Apparao’s association with HCL began way back in 2003, when he joined as delivery unit head. In just over three years, he was elevated to vice president and integrated service delivery head, Skandia, HCL Great Britain, based out of Southampton, UK.
By 2012, he was executive vice president – HCL Technologies, based out of Bangalore.

With about 25 years of experience, Sundararajan began his tryst with HR as head of HR (UK & I), for Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for seven years, starting 1998.

An alumnus of Coimbatore Institute of Technology as well as Tata Institute of Social Sciences, it was in 2006 that he began his association with HCL. He joined as HR director (EMEA) at HCL Technologies, and successfully essayed this role for almost three years.

From 2008 to 2013, he was vice president and global head – HR at HCL Axon.

The year 2013 saw him in the post of senior vice president sales HR & operations at HCL Technologies. He completed a long tenure of over nine years in this position.

Since April 2018, he has also been executive vice president – HR, HCL America, based out of New York.
