There is a huge shift at workplace in terms of technology, level of automation and requirement of skill sets. There is an urgent need to facilitate the employees to align towards this shift, and also to create a future-ready organisation in context to Industrial Revolution 4.0, through digitisation and towards digitisation. In his own words, “The aim is to create an eco-system that nurtures young talent and focusses on gender diversity, particularly at the manufacturing sites.” He goes on to add that the focus shall be on the integration of aspirations of multiple generations through a common framework, which leads to achieve the purpose by combining the strengths of each individual in the organisation.

Prior to working at Birla Carbon as the regional HR head, South Asia and Middle East, he was the assistant vice president of HR, UltraTech Cement for almost four years. He started off in the Aditya Birla Group as the general manager, HR, Aditya Birla Chemicals Division.

Mishra started off as senior executive at Nicholas Piramal. After almost three years, he shifted to Mardia Chemicals as manager and stayed put for over five years before moving on to Nova Petrochemical in the same position for two and a half years.

Having begun his journey at the Aditya Birla Group, from the chemicals division, way back in March 2005, Mishra enjoyed many opportunities to work in different businesses, locations and geographies. Speaking about his experiences in ABG contributing to his understanding of the business, he says, “Experiences of working in different businesses is always advantageous as building blocks for the next. Our core values and exposure to work with the global team in my previous role in Birla Carbon will help to work and excel with the global team of epoxy and specialty products.”

Mishra graduated from Lucknow University with a master’s in social work, in industrial relations and in personnel Management in 1991.
