Starting today, 10 March 2025, employees of Infosys will be expected to work from office for at least ten days. The IT major is tweaking its attendance software to ensure that employees comply. While in March last year Infosys had allowed its staff up to 11 days of work-from-home (WFH) and 10 days in office as part of the hybrid approach, it has now introduced tech intervention .
If employees fail to adhere to the new demand of on-site work, the mobile app that they use to register their attendance will refuse their work-from-home request. Earlier the requests were accepted by default, as reported by ET.
Heads of various departments have been informed of this new mandate coming into effect from 10 March so that there is a limit to the number of days that the 3.23 lakh employees at job level 5 (JL5) and under can work from home. The mandate does not apply to those above JL6.
That means team leaders as well as senior engineers, software engineers, system engineers and consultants will have no option but to register their presence in the physical office for at least ten days every month. This will ensure that employees enjoy flexibility even while following the demands of the hybrid model.
Under Infosy’s hybrid work policy employees are to work from office for a minimum of 10 days every month, or more depending on the requirements of their project.
The new attendance-tracking process is expected to enhance collaboration and improve productivity, even while maintaining the flexibility of a hybrid approach.
