The NCS and partner organisations will together work to improve the accessibility, availability and quality of employment for the aspiring talent in the country.

With an aim to improve reach and quality of employment services, the National Career Service (NCS) recently signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with eleven strategic partners —HT Shine, Amity University, Association Skill Training Providers (ASTP), Urban Clap, Merajob, Portea, Freshers World, Wheebox, First Job and Delivery Track.

The memorandums were inked in the presence of Bandaru Dattatreya, Minister of State(IC). Speaking on the occasion, Dattatreya said that “The Government is committed to provide more employment opportunities and signing of these MoU is a step in this direction. In addition to linking all the employment exchanges on a national platform, the Government is also partnering with leading industry players to develop a wide base of career-related services for the youth.” He added that the NCS portal is going to play a vital role by addressing the gaps in the job market.

Earlier, the NCS has also partnered with leading organisations, such as Monster.com, Uber, Saral Rozgar, Quikrjobs, Indian Staffing Federation, etc. for enhancing quality and reach of employment services through the NCS network. These organisations have also participated in the various job fairs organised under the NCS. Employment opportunities being a national priority, it is also equally important to provide information on jobs to the teeming and aspiring population. Since its launch, the NCS has grown significantly with over 3.6 crore job seekers, nine lakh employers and mobilising over one lakh jobs in the last few months. The NCS portal facilitates job seekers to register online and employers to post vacancies/search candidates free of cost. These services are also accessible through the over 1.5 lakh common service centres.

The Principal Labour and Economic Advisor, P.P. Mitra, said, “The Ministry of Labour and Employment has leveraged technology in EPFO, ESIC and the NCS to assist employees and industry to avail benefits under various schemes in a seamless and transparent manner. These technology reforms will play a crucial role in making local and global opportunities available and accessible to the youth so that they join the globally competitive workforce.” The Deputy Director General (Employment), Pravin Srivastava, said, “The NCS is a vibrant platform where various stakeholders can partner in the delivery of employment services. The industry partners are invited to take advantage of this platform in sourcing their human resource requirement and assisting youth in making the right career choice.” The NCS is trying to enhance the reach of employment opportunities, he added.

The Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoLE) is implementing the National Career Service Project to provide a wide variety of employment-related services to jobseekers and youth using technology. The National Career Service (NCS) initiative was launched in 2015 as an ICT-based platform for providing career-related services to the public. The Government has taken several initiatives through schemes like Make in India, Skill India, Digital India, Smart City and Start-up India, to boost the economy as well as generate large employment opportunities for its youth. Various legislations have been amended to increase employment while addressing the concerns of wage security, social security and job security of the workers. The Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Protsahan Yojana (PMRPY) is also being implemented by the Ministry where EPFO-registered employers will be incentivised to improve employment. Under PMRPY, the 8.33 per cent EPS contribution of the employer for new employment will be paid by the Government for the next three years.
