The new recruits will be deployed at Samsung’s R&D centres at Bengaluru, Noida and Delhi.

Following the bullish growth of the mobile phone and allied services market in the country, Samsung India has plans to hire 1000 engineering graduates from top engineering colleges in the country, in 2018.

Over 300 of these engineers will be recruited from various Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) across the country. It will also hire engineers from institutes, such as the Delhi College of Engineering, BITS Pilani, Manipal Institute of Technology and IIIT.

The Company is working out the application of new-age technology, such as artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), machine learning (ML), biometrics, natural language processing, augmented reality (AR) and networks, including 5G.

The engineers hired will be working in these new technology domains at different Samsung R&D centres in India.

Samsung has three R&D centres in the country at Bengaluru, Noida and Delhi. All three centres are working on several advanced technologies.

The Bengaluru centre specialises in areas, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning and IoT, while the Noida centre plays a crucial role in development of biometrics, mobile software development, multimedia and data security.

The R&D centre at Delhi works on research related to high-end televisions and other consumer electronic products.

Engineers at these centres have been innovating for Indian as well as global consumers. Some of the products these centres have built are high-end camera modules for top smartphones, intelligent interface Bixby and Samsung Pay.

Emergence of new innovations and technology is expected to increase the hiring of engineering graduates next year.

Last year, the Company had hired 800 engineers for its R&D centres, out of which 300 were from the IITs.
