Union Minister for Coal and Mines, G Kishan Reddy, stated on Wednesday that he would recommend an increase in the pension for retired coal employees to the central government.
Singareni Retired Employees Welfare Association President Dandamraj Ramchander Rao and All India Coal Pensioners Association Convenor PK Singh Rathore presented a petition to Kishan Reddy outlining their long-standing concerns, including the difficulties faced by coal pensioners living on inadequate pensions.
The Minister responded favourably, assuring them that he would soon raise their concerns with the relevant authorities and work diligently to secure a suitable pension increase, according to a press release.
