Oracle, the global technology firm, is set to upskill about 50,000 Saudi Arabian nationals. The initiative encompasses a comprehensive training and certification in key areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and the Internet of Things (IoT) by the year 2027.
This strategic training endeavour is a part of the ‘Mostaqbali’ (My Future) initiative. Furthermore, it will be executed in collaboration with Future Work and will be overseen by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) in Saudi Arabia.
The initiative is a dedicated effort to empower Saudi youth, contributing to the present and future workforce in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030. Additionally, it is envisioned to address the escalating need for technological expertise in the Kingdom, benefitting not only Oracle but also its customers and partners.
The programme is open to all Saudi nationals, spanning various educational and professional backgrounds. However, it will be more focused on the youth and women.
Simultaneously, Oracle is actively expanding its footprint in Saudi Arabia. Recently, the company announced a substantial $1.5 billion investment to enhance cloud capacity in the country. This includes the establishment of a third cloud region in Riyadh, complementing the existing Oracle Cloud Jeddah Region and the upcoming Oracle Cloud Region in NEOM, a new urban area planned by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to be built in its northwestern Tabuk Province.
The company’s commitment extends to offering five cloud regions across Saudi Arabia and the UAE, with three already operational in Jeddah, Dubai and Abu Dhabi. This multifaceted approach underscores Oracle’s dedication to fostering technological skill development, supporting national economic objectives, and fortifying its presence in the dynamic Saudi Arabian market.
