Investigations have been ordered into the job scam in Andhra Pradesh, wherein some outsourcing agency has been fleecing people on the pretext of offering them jobs at Raj Bhavan.
It is reported that Sumati Corporate Services was engaged by the Raj Bhavan to recruit people as attenders, receptionists, office sub-ordinate, and so on. However, it was soon brought to light that the agency was fleecing job seekers of huge amounts of money in return for permanent jobs. It is reported that along with some supervisors of the agency, certain protocol staff from Raj Bhavan were also involved in this fraud.
Almost nine outsourced staff have already been fleeced of money with the false promise of permanent appointments. Immediate criminal action has been ordered against the agency and all those involved.
Instances of anomalies in government recruitment processes are not uncommon. Last month, six employees of Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC), were booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act for making over 150 recruitments, of which 45 were made on the basis of fake certificates and incomplete application forms where even signatures were missing. It was discovered that some of the candidates selected did not even have the five years of working experience that was cited as the eligibility criterion for the post. Six people were named in the FIR lodges, including a retired staff member.
