The recruitment exam pattern and evaluation process of the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) is all set to improve.
The finance and human resources management minister, Palanivel Thiaga Rajan, has announced that AI technology will be used to evaluate answer sheets, and the exam format will be changed to computer-based testing. The decision was made to expedite and ensure a fair evaluation process.
TNPSC recruitment exams attract around 40 lakh candidates for various positions, with lakhs attempting the Group 1 and Group 2 exams. To expedite result publication, the Tamil Nadu government is focusing on technology-driven evaluation methods. AI-based evaluation will be enabled by transitioning from traditional pen-and-paper exams to computer-based testing.
The finance minister also revealed that an Integrated Human Resource Management Status Report will be published to ensure the state government selects staff with the right skills and in a transparent manner, promoting further skill development.
Finally, the TNPSC Group 1 exam results will be released in April, with the exam having taken place in November 2022 and the answer key already published.
