To get the real picture of AI integration into the workplace, Amazon has unveiled Amazon Q, its proprietary AI-driven digital assistant designed for businesses. It will be exclusively offered to employees that opt for the services of this AI-powered assistant, and stands out as the company’s inaugural AI assistant.
Q’s primary aim is to assist employees in comprehending and utilising Amazon Web Services (AWS). It will engage in conversations within communication platforms such as Slack and text-editing applications, while also being seamlessly integrated into AWS’ online management console.
Furthermore, the chatbot is designed to enhance efficiency by streamlining tasks, expediting decision-making processes, and fostering creativity and innovation in the workplace. However, the chatbot won’t be universally accessible.
In the introduction of Amazon Q on its website, the e-commerce giant describes it as an exceptionally intelligent assistant that rapidly furnishes users with necessary information, resolves issues, generates content, and aids in decision-making. Operating by accessing a company’s data and knowledge, this AI chatbot offers immediate guidance.
In discussing its advantages for businesses, Amazon emphasised that companies can customise Q as per their business by linking it to company data, information, and systems, facilitated by over 40 pre-built connectors. Business users, such as marketers, project and programme managers, and sales representatives, can engage in personalised conversations, address issues, create content, take specific actions, and more.
The chatbot will allow users to pose detailed, nuanced questions and receive customised results containing only the information they are authorised to access.
Q is currently in its preview stage, and certain features are accessible at no cost for now. Following the conclusion of the preview period, two pricing tiers will be implemented: $20 per person per month for business users and $25 per person per month for developers and IT professionals.
