The employees of the Himachal Pradesh Staff Selection Commission in Hamirpur are frustrated with the state government’s lack of action in providing their salary for January 2023. A meeting was held by the employees’ union, where they expressed their anger over the non-payment of their salaries. The commission was suspended by the state government following the leak of the JOA-IT recruitment exam paper, resulting in the arrest of eight individuals, including senior assistant Uma Azad and her sons, as well as several others, by the vigilance department.

According to the preliminary inquiry, there are suspicions about the irregularities in ten previous examinations conducted by the commission, leading to several complaints being lodged. The employees’ union has requested that the state government reinstate the commission to alleviate the problems faced by the staff. The union has taken a tough stance towards the accused employees and demanded strict action against those who have damaged the reputation of the commission. They have also called for the appointment of a senior IAS officer to enhance the commission’s operations.
