VMware, a US headquartered cloud computing and virtualisation tech firm, announced that it will enhance its existing wellbeing benefits programme, to allow its employees an opportunity to live a more healthy and balanced life. It will offer all employees an additional wellbeing allowance of Rs 29,565 as equitable reimbursement. If the employees so wish, they can use the wellbeing amount to pay for their vaccination and that of their families.

The Company did alter some of its policies to ensure that teams had help and resources to cope with the challenges of the new normal.

It initiated a pandemic leave policy for its employees, allowing them five days of paid leave, to enjoy a break. It also introduced EPIC2 days, declaring four company-wide holidays throughout the year to help employees disconnect from work and spend quality time with their families. Additionally, VMware introduced a new coaching, therapy, and work life services (ICAS) programme to ensure the mental and emotional wellbeing of the employees as well as their dependents. Employees and their families can access several online resources – top therapists, coaches, research-backed therapy, and digital tools — 24 x 7, along with other programmes through an external benefits site.

The Company realises that the disruption of 2020 has taken a toll on everyone, and therefore, “ employees may need some additional support” for which ”we have revamped our wellbeing benefits programme to do just that.”
