The couple from Gurugram who were arrested for allegedly torturing, beating,harassing, and sexually abusing a 17-year old minor domestic help have been sacked from their jobs.
The wife worked in a PR agency and the husband worked in an insurance company. Both companies made an announcement of their termination on Twitter on February 8, 2023.
According to sources Jharkhand Bhawan’s official in Delhi also visited the civil hospital to meet the girl on February 8, 2023.
The complaint was filed by Pinky Malik, the in-charge of the Sakhi centre. The police rescued the girl and have stated that the Gurugram couple made her work and abused her regularly.
On February 9, 2023, the police started searching for the placement agency through which the girl was employed at their residence in Gurugram. The victim is a resident of Ranchi and was hired through a placement agency in Gurugram a couple of months ago.
After arresting Manish Khattar and his wife Kamaljeet Kaur, residents of New Colony, Gurugram, on February 8, 2023, the police said several injuries were found on the victims hands, feet and mouth.
The 17-years-old girl suffered immensely at the hands of her employers. According to the FIR, Pinky Malik claimed that the couple would not let her sleep at night and also did not give her food for many days.
Malik said, “Her mouth was completely swollen while injury marks were found everywhere on her body.”
