The Dearness Allowance (DA) for Haryana state government employees would be raised from the current rate of 38 per cent to 42 per cent of their basic pay. In an order issued by the additional chief secretary (ACS-finance) on Thursday last week, the raise will be given to the employees effective January 1, 2023.
This announcement by the Haryana government notifies a 4 per cent hike in DA for state government employees who are being paid in accordance with the seventh pay commission structure. The arrears from January to March 2023 will be paid in May, however, the additional DA will be paid with the April payout.
In an additional order by the finance department, it has also been notified that the state government has increased the dearness relief (DR) by 4 per cent for state government pensioners and family pensioners who receive their pension/family pension in accordance with the 7th pay commission structure.
The decision mandates that the increased DR should be disbursed along with the pension or family pension in April 2023, and any pending arrears for the months of January through March 2023 must be paid in May.
Recently, the Delhi government has announced a hike in minimum wages for unorganised sector employees. As per the statement released by the administration, the new minimum wage rates will come into effect from April 1.
