Taking a step towards developing skills and capabilities in the aviation sector, the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has recently entered into an agreement with the US–India Aviation Cooperation Programme (ACP).
As part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that was signed between NSDC and US–India ACP, a Centre of Excellence will be established that will focus on conducting skill development programmes.
According to the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, the agreement will go a long way in developing a pool of skilled and talented people to address the skill gap in the aviation sector of India. In addition, it will also create skilled people to meet the requirements of other markets around the world.
In its efforts towards skill development in the aviation sector, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has also established the Aerospace and Aviation Sector Skill Council (AASSC) with the primary objective of developing domestic and transnational standards along with the capacity for providing skill training in the various areas relevant to the aviation sector.
AASSC has been established in collaboration with the leading corporates in the country.
