Six girls to represent India at the UK Skills Show

The Show inspires students to discover the latest training, education and career opportunities available worldwide.

Six girls, from New Delhi, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Uttarakhand, will represent India at the UK Skills Show 2015, which is to be held between November 19–21 at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, UK.

The candidates will showcase their skills in beauty therapy (body, hands and face) and jewellery making in front of a gathering of 75000 people who will be attending the country’s largest skills and career event.

The UK Skills Show is a platform that inspires students to discover the latest training, education and career opportunities available worldwide.

At the WorldSkills international competition at Sao Paulo, held in August 2015, India won eight Medallions of Excellence in various skills.

“The event provides an excellent opportunity to showcase the talent of India’s youth at the International level and help them benchmark their skills to the global level. This will also inspire them to learn a skill of their choice and improve their livelihood potential,” says Jayant Krishna, CEO, NSDC.

Pune’s Ashwiinii Hemant Taareh and Karishma Sunil Gupta will represent the country in the Beauty and Wellness category, along with Tabasum Sulthana from Chennai and Pooja Rani from New Delhi. Sweta Singh and Savita Palariya of Uttarakhand will participate in the jewellery-making category.
