HR management company Ultimate Kronos Group was hit with a Ransomware attack on Sunday, crippling its functions for weeks.

Bob Hughes, Executive Vice President, UKG, detailed the technical complication on the company’s blog. On Sunday, December 11, 2021, the team caught evidence of unusual activity that affected the UKG solutions employing Kronos Private Cloud.

“We took immediate action to investigate and mitigate the issue, and have determined that this is a ransomware incident affecting the Kronos Private Cloud-the portion of our business where UKG Workforce Central, UKG?TeleStaff, Healthcare Extensions, and Banking Scheduling Solutions are deployed.” He added.

Elaborating on the extent of damage done to the software, Hughes wrote, “At this time, we are not aware of an impact to UKG Pro, UKG Ready, UKG Dimensions, or any other UKG products or solutions, which are housed in separate environments and not in the Kronos Private Cloud.”

Although it has made attempts to fix the system, Kronos has recommended its clients to look for “alternative business continuity protocols related to the affected UKG solutions”. The nature and scope of the incident is unknown to the Kronos team as of yet but it has promised to give the update on the situation in the next 24 hours.
Tesla, Puma, and YMCA are among the high-profile clients of the service.

Kronos is a work management software and associate services that helps their clients manage workforce on cloud platform. It has headquarters in Lowell, Massachusetts, and Weston, Florida.
